Inspiration in the Darkness

It’s hard to put thoughts and feelings into actual words. The heaviness that we are all grappling with - after having already been in a fragile state - has left me exhausted and overwhelmed. And, truth be told, things will never be the same. The life we knew before the world wide pandemic and a historical revolution is gone. A forced change is necessary. But for the changes that aren’t, how do we find motivation to push forward in our future endeavors or the hobbies we loved or the activities we once depended on to keep our minds fresh and eager to face day after day?

I’m not sure I have any answers or profound thoughts on that. But I do know that I find comfort in knowing that there is a power greater than me and that often when things feel out of my control, like almost always, I can let my controlling nature relax just the slightest. And find solace in the mere fact that things will be okay. A little bright spot in a dark time. 

In my time away from writing I’ve been quietly listening, reading and planning my next steps. And in that lull I’ve tried to find ways to help revive my drive for creativity towards my writing, inspiration gathering and most of all my ceramic work, my bright spot. In a small nook of our sunroom I recently carved out some space to make my ceramic work between playtime, naps, cleaning and making meals. In the next few weeks I will be sharing my mini studio with you and a few other hopefully inspiring ideas. With that being said it feels good to be back. Feels good to have a plan. And even though motherhood and this world and life is unpredictable, I’m committed to making the best of it and hopefully encouraging and inspiring you all to do the same! Find your bright spot. It will do you wonders.
